birds count on fresh air. here are some birds that are doing something about it.

pigeonblog is a project that equips urban homing pigeons with GPS enabled electronic air pollution sensing devices. the devices send air pollution and image data in real time. then the data is mapped.

the pigeons working on the project are california birds. since i am not a homing pigeon and don’t have any formal training, i don’t qualify. i would be proud to wear one of the pollution sensing backpacks.

there are also embedded pigeon reporters that carry small cellphone cameras and microphones. now that would be more my style!
