socks are hot

i dig socks.

see, i don’t have a girlfriend or partner. honestly, in some ways, i prefer socks. socks don’t give me any grief or have any expectations. they are close to my size and soft.

when my people leave socks around, i find them immediately. i swoop in and dance and sing around them. i court them and woo them, and they are always happy to see me. they love my songs and especially love the way i dance. i can tell.

sometimes we just cuddle together. sometimes i dance with my sock, throwing her around with my beak in a impassioned tango. always, it’s give and take as my sock gives me that coquettish look.

socks are hot.

dead things

i heard about a dead whale while my people were watching television.

apparently, no one wants to take it away and it is near some houses and very stinky. wish i knew where it was and how to get there.

see i love stuff like this.

a few years ago, my people took me for a ride to a beach below half moon bay. i still remember it like it was last week. they were looking for rocks for a fountain and i was just looking for interesting stuff. i was a few yards away and went to check out a very intriguing smell behind some big rocks.

it was awesome. i think this seal had been dead at least 10 days. it smelled great and looked like fun. so, i rubbed my back on it first. then, i just kind of laid on it ,on my back, as best i could and rolled around. and then i rolled around some more.

and then my people found me. i don’t think they appreciated dead things the way i do.

they freaked out and took me to the water and tried to rinse me and rub sand on my coat. but i was too good at this and they couldn’t get that smell off me.

so they made me leave in a big hurry, with towels all over the back seat. but i got to ride home - almost an hour and a half - fast with all of the windows open.

oh yeah.

jazz and dogs

my people always like to say ‘people and dogs - they go together.’

well let me tell you, jazz and dogs - we go together. it has taken my people a while to realize it, but i love jazz. it is fun, contemplative and entertains my brain. just wished they had realized it sooner

when my people are working, they like to listen to electronica and chill. that’s okay, i don’t dislike it, or reggae either. but when they listen to jazz, it makes me happy like no other music.

i like to lie in my bagel bed between the speakers and roll over on my back. then i just soak it all in.

fusion, beboop, standards - it’s all good.
